Product Disposition UN/CEFACT code list: end-of-life states of a product that the GS1 Core Business Vocabulary does not define.
An extension to the GS1 Core Business Vocabulary, not a replacement for it. A traceability event states the business condition of its objects using a CBV Disp- value wherever one applies; this list supplies the states CBV omits. CBV covers the outcomes of reuse, repair, refurbishment and repurposing, since a product returning to service is available or conformant, and covers take-back as returned. What it does not express is material or energy recovery, where the object ceases to exist as a product and its substance continues.
Concepts (2)
| Label | Notation | Definition |
|---|---|---|
| Energy recovered | energy_recovered | The object has been processed for energy recovery rather than material recovery. Its identity as a product has ended and no material continues to production. |
| Recycled | recycled | The object has been processed for material recovery. Its identity as a product has ended and the recovered materials continue as inputs to production. |
